After just two weeks on the market, Julia Roberts’ San Francisco home has sold. According to Mansion Global, a buyer purchased the 1912 building in late October for $11.25 million, about $500,000 less than the asking price. Roberts purchased the 6,300-square-foot Presidio Heights mansion in February 2020 for $8.3 million. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Oscar winner and her husband, cinematographer Daniel Moder, made significant improvements to the Edwardian home during their ownership.
Originally designed by architect Sylvain Schnaittacher, the five-story villa has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and two half-baths (all flooded with natural light, a feature of most Edwardian houses). The Pretty Woman and Moder star kept classic features like the living room’s moldings, stained glass windows, and fireplace, but created a new décor with modern furniture and fresh paint colors.
Cabinets on the lower level of the home’s period kitchen are painted a matte navy blue and a mix of open shelving and light olive green cabinets sit on top, while the cozy breakfast nook features a full-length glass window. Floor-to-ceiling opens up to picturesque surroundings. The master suite takes up the entire third floor and features a sitting area, balcony, walk-in closet, desk, separate shower, and freestanding tub in the bathroom. Other accommodation amenities include a bar, gym, and bonus room on the top floor. In the back, the couple added a terrace with a spa and olive trees to complement the landscaped lawn.
Roberts and Moder, who have three children together, own a mansion in Malibu.
