From Gordon Ramsay to Martha Stewart, Snoop Dogg has cooked with many famous chefs.
But Snoop Dogg told Insider that the most memorable meal he ever cooked was for DMX.
Snoop Dogg, who recorded several songs with the late rapper, said he cooked for DMX after they faced off in a “Verzuz” bаtle in July 2020. Instagram Live show, invites two musicians and Artists to perform their discography on each episode, which was launched by Timbaland and Swizz Beatz at the start of the CоVID-19 pаndemic in March.
“I had a great time cooking for the big DMX,” Snoop Dogg told Insider. “After we fought over ‘Verzuz’ in my studio, he stayed here and continued working on his album.”
While DMX was recording, Snoop said he prepared a big party for himself and Swizz Beatz.
“I made ribs, rice, salsa, corn, and tortillas,” the rapper recalls. “And DMX and Swizz Beatz almost ate it up, they couldn’t believe how good it was.”
But that’s not the end of Snoop Dogg’s culinary marathon.
“I got to cook for them for about three days straight, and I was honored to do it and I was happy to do it,” Snoop Dogg added. “I feel good knowing that I am providing them with food and treats so they can set records. That’s one of my strengths, being able to cook for them and make them happy.”
DMX passed away on April 9, 2021. Snoop Dogg paid tribute to his friend in an interview on “Today” at the time, saying he “always tried to help people other”.
“And that makes me believe that that’s why God chose this angel to come home with Him,” Snoop Dogg said. “He did what he had to do. He was influential, inspiring, and representative. So DMX, his soul will continue to live on and his music will continue to exist.”
As for his dream guest, Snoop Dogg told Insider that he hopes to be able to concoct something for Sade.
“I really wаnted to cook for Sade when we worked in the recording studio,” he said. “Crаp cooking, like filet mignon with lobster.”
Snoop Dogg has some lobster skills. Martha Stewart previously told Insider that Lobster Newburg was the best dish he’s ever made for her.
“He won’t touch the lobster, but he will cook the Newburg lobster,” she said. “I think it’s really funny.”
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg told Insider that he can’t get enough of Stewart’s buttermilk fried chicken — which she says she learned to perfect in prison.
“She told me that one of the girls at home gave her some kind of formula that she used when she went out and it was very effective and great,” the rapper said. “That thing is amazing. It’s delicious, it’s soft and crunchy.”
