Britney Spears confirmed she was one of the original Swifties in a stunning Instagram picture on Saturday.
The Instagram update showed a backstage flashback of Britney with Taylor Swift from 2003.
Britney was a worldwide recognized superstar at the time, but Taylor was a jobbing 14-year-old vocalist who was absolutely unknown to the rest of the world.
Taylor didn’t break out until three years later with her song Tim McGraw, establishing the career that has supposedly made her a fortune.
Britney said in a new Instagram comment that Taylor reached her through an intermediary 20 years ago and managed to perform for her, leaving the elder vocalist astounded by the young gun’s skill.

‘This is way back when but kinda cool … During my Oops Tour, I got a knock at my door,’ Britney wrote, setting the scene.
‘My good friend at the time was the assistant to my manager who was trying to become a manager himself,’ she explained.
‘There was a knock, and then he said: “I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.” I was like of course !!!’
She continued: ‘He walks in, and she sings a beautiful song with her guitar I was like wow wow she’s unbelievable !!!’
Britney deadpanned: ‘We took a picture, and she then became the most iconic pop woman of our generation. Kinda cool she plays stadiums, and I prefer her videos over movies any day. She’s stunning !!! Girl crush.’
Her story was accompanied by the original backstage photo from 2003, as well as a famous photo of her and Taylor taken at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.
Taylor had already risen to stardom and had published her first two studio albums, which included legendary songs like You Belong With Me.
Taylor is now in Buenos Aires on her barnstorming Eras Tour, which has proven to be an economic powerhouse that has finally pushed her over the line to billionaire status.

Meanwhile, Britney has just released The Woman In Me, a best-selling book in which she attacks her ex Justin Timberlake, her parents, and her sister Jamie Lynn, whom she accuses of being a “total person” at the age of 11.
Her most recent Instagram post on her relationship with Taylor included a postscript addressed to her mother Lynne.
Britney accused her parents, Jamie and Lynne, of throwing out her childhood dolls and notebooks in The Woman In Me.
She characterized her Madame Alexander dolls as one of the few luxuries she had as a youngster, as one of the few luxuries she could afford.
Britney claims her parents disposed of her ‘prized items,’ such as the dolls and diaries, in 2019, when she had recently been treated for mental illness and was still under Jamie’s contentious conservatorship.

such targets as her ex Justin Timberlake, and her family
Britney accused her mother of being the mastermind’ of the arrangement after being released from conservatorship in 2021.
Although their relationship appears to have soured since then, Britney continued to blame Lynne in her biography, claiming Lynne was complicit in the dolls’ disposal.
‘I’m not sure who informed you I took rid of your dolls and notebooks, but it is something I would never do!’ Lynne responded on her Instagram account on Thursday.
‘That would be cruel because I know how much they mean to you. They are special to me too because of the years we spent collecting them. Of course, I still have your things, and I am happy to send them to you if you’d like me to. Please let me know and know how much I love you!’
Britney responded to her mother’s invitation with an eye-catching postscript to the caption of her Taylor Swift post on Saturday.
‘Ps mum I adore you, but there were three dolls in the cupboards when I returned home two years ago… It’s strange that you’d pull them out and then put them back in… ‘I’m so screwed up,’ Britney wrote. ‘No way, I’m not interested. Keep everything. ‘I honestly don’t care anymore… honestly.’
