STEPHON MARBURY & KNICKS TEAMMATE cracks over 50 CENT & FAT JOE’S CREATED

50 Cent and Fat Joe’s feud in the mid-2000s spilled over into an NBA locker room, it has been revealed.

Stephon Marbury and Tim Thomas were teammates on the New York Knicks in 2004 and 2005. Although they were friends growing up and entering the league, Thomas siding with G-Unit and Starbury liking Joey Crack caused a schism in their friendship.

During a recent interview on the WKND WRK podcast, Thomas discussed how 50 and Joe’s feud strained his bond with Marbury.

“I grew up with Steph, and we went to Five Star Basketball camp together.” I knew his brothers, his mother, and his father. “At the Rucker, we actually played for Fat Joe with Terror Squad,” the Villanova product revealed. “There were no problems between us until 50 and Fat Joe got involved.”

“That’s when Steph and I split up.” At this point, we were truly teammates. Between those three years of beefing, a lot of other things happened. I recall Fat Joe sitting courtside and Steph gave him some love. And I’m staring at them, thinking, ‘Damn, I can’t walk over there and ask him what’s up?'”

After participating in 95 games with the Knicks, Thomas was traded to the Chicago Bulls in 2005, and he then played for the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers, and Dallas Mavericks.

However, he returned to the Knicks in the 2008-2009 season after the franchise’s relationship with Marbury worsened, culminating in his trade to Boston.

Meanwhile, Fat Joe and 50 Cent’s relationship reached a boiling point in the mid-2000s, with their opposing teams nearly collapsing backstage at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards.

Everything is OK between the two New York rap icons these days, with the conflict long resolved. Joey Crack even appeared as a special guest on 50’s Final Lap Tour this summer.

In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, the G-Unit mogul reflected on his rivalry with Joe, expressing sorrow for bringing the Terror Squad leader into his battle with Ja Rule.

“I used the same thinking at the start of my career because it’s just the thinking you’d use in the environment.” If someone walked next to Ja Rule, I’d jump on anyone who was around them, ’cause I placed him on life support and you want to go revive him… “So that energy, you look at it later and think, ‘I was buggin’,'” he explained.

“Fat Joe, his issues, I would see him a little uncomfortable with the success I was having, and I interpreted as, ‘He doesn’t like me,’ when he’s really the kind of guy you want to be friends with because he’s loyal to a default,” he went on to say. “He’s so loyal for one record that did with him that we became enemies.”
