Built in the fifteenth century on the foundation of a fortress, the Château de Laroche Ploquin still displays the weapons of the Puy family, who were its owners in the sixteenth century.

Then, this for sale château passes into the hands of Comtesse Marie-Thérèse de Poix, who uses it as a symbol of the Resistance by storing soldiers and weapons inside. With its blésois quadrillage, chapiteaux, and mouldures, it is a defining feature of buildings from the first quarter of the XVI century, incorporating elements of several architectural styles.

It was completely renovated and turned into a four-star hotel with a gastronomic restaurant in 2017. All of the rooms, whether they are the 20 rooms in the main castle or the 3 rooms in the comtesse’s pavilions, are decorated in Louis XV or Louis XVI styles. There, the art scene is booming, with soie draped over walls, travertin and Carrare wood work, massive wood, etc.
