Ty Dolla Sign has provided a significant update on his joint album with Kanye West.
The West Coast native announced to the crowd during a recent concert that he had just arrived from Saudi Arabia, where he was working with Ye on an impending joint project, during his set. Ty claims that fans won’t have to wait long for the album, as it is now in the works.
“I just landed on a flight from Saudi Arabia,” Ty stated. “I’ve been out there recording a part of my album with my brother Ye, and that’s coming real soon.”
In October, Billboard revealed that Ye and Ty were searching for possible record labels to sign the album, and West’s group declared they were planning an Italian show to support the endeavor. When Ty announced on Instagram last month that he and Ye would be hosting a “multi-stadium listening event” on November 3, things started to pick up.
Billboard, however, stated that the listening event was postponed and that the show’s plans were still up in the air. Despite the error, Ye and Ty have continued to work with internet videos showing them interacting with Lil Baby in Saudi Arabia.
The last joint song by Ty Dolla Sign and Kanye West was “Junya Pt. 2” from Ye’s 2021 album Donda. Additionally, they collaborated on West’s “Everything We Need” (2019), “Real Friends” (2016), and “Only One” (2014) as well as Ty’s “Ego Death” (2020).
