Enter Ariana Grande’s traditional living room, where she lives with her husband and a unique character.
Ariana Grande now has “one less problem” on her plate, or at the very least, one less high-maintenance property. According to public documents, the Florida-born singer-songwriter paid $9.1 million for her luxury Montecito home, a considerable rise over the $6.8 million she paid Ellen DeGeneres for it just two years ago. Siteline Santa Barbara was the first to report on the off-market acquisition.
The expensive buyer is Michael Kives, who, while not well-known, has long been a member of Hollywood’s elite. He also founded K5 Global, a venture capital business that describes itself as a “media and financial services advisory and consulting firm.” In addition to their new Montecito home, Kives and his wife Lydia possess a $12 million house in Beverly Hills.
The house sits on 1.3 acres of land and is flanked by thick fences and grand gates. This Narnia-inspired home has two unique kitchens, all with luxury appliances, two indoor eating spaces, two full baths, and two powder rooms. All rooms feature vaulted ceilings and flooring made of brick, stone, and concrete. There is also a designated laundry room and at least five fireplaces on the site.
The interiors were renovated in DeGeneres’ signature style, which incorporates a lot of milky white, deep grey, and other earth tones. The lofted master bedroom overlooks one of the house’s two main rooms, while the octagonal library includes casement windows from the 1800s. The lack of a swimming pool for a $9.1 million mansion in Southern California is surprising, but the magnificent grounds more than compensate, and the Pacific Ocean is only a short drive away.
Grande still owns two expensive residences in the Hollywood Hills, one of which is a $9 million estate in the Bird Streets neighborhood that she acquired from Cameron Diaz earlier this year. There has been no word on whether Grande intends to purchase another Montecito house. She had previously owned a Paul McClean-designed house, which she sold last year for $14 million to talent agency Nancy Josephson and film producer Larry Sanitsky.
