Anthony Davis purchased a residence in Los Angeles shortly after completing a $190 million contract with the Lakers several months prior. The Chicago native reportedly paid an astounding price for a residence in Bel Air Crest, a guard-gated neighborhood in the highlands situated between Bel Air and the San Fernando Valley, according to The Real Deal.
Constructed between the late 1980s and early 1990s, Bel Air Crest features two hundred residences in the Mediterranean style, each featuring its own driveway entrance. Kanye West, Gordon Ramsay, Kathy Gryphon, and Kim Kardashian all resided in Bel Air Crest while their Hidden Hills megamansion was under construction.
According to public records, Davis acquired his new residence for $31 million and financed it with a $20,1 million mortgage. He never included his residence on the listing. The 20,000-square-foot mansion situated on a 3.5-acre peninsula offers breathtaking vistas of Catalina Island and the Pacific Ocean. It is the largest and most opulent residence in the neighborhood.
Property documents indicate that the eight-bedroom, nine-and-a-half-bathroom residence was constructed in 2010 by the local family Changs. Ted Foxman, a real estate developer and former semiconductor entrepreneur, acquired the immaculately symmetrical edifice for $10 million in 2016.
It could be most accurately characterized as a fusion of European and international influences on the White House chateau style. Foxman then devoted milliоns of dollars to restoring the expansive property’s interiors and landscape, which are now vibrant and verdant.
Foxman also incorporated vibrant hues and positioned an aqua-painted classic Porsche 356 in the living room. Lonni Paul, an interior designer based in Los Angeles, documented his work for Elle Decor the previous year.
Huge domes in double-height vestibules produce an atmosphere reminiscent of a solarium. Small chambers include a movie theater, a guitar practice room, and a gaming area featuring a wet bar and wine cellar.
The principal attractions of the property, notwithstanding its modest scale, are the awe-inspiring panorama and the 120-foot Olympic-caliber swimming pool. A full-size tennis court, an infinite lawn, and a poolside pavilion are additional highlights.
In 2020, Davis sold his mansion in Westlake Village at a loss of $1 million. Foxman, whose investment in the Bel Air sale to Davis exceeded threefold prior to restoration costs and taxes, downsized to an Encino residence featuring a basketball court and measuring 13,000 square feet in living area, valued at $13.8 million.
