Rick Ross refers to the $37 million mega-mansion he purchased in Miami as “an important piece to the puzzle.”

The rapper, 47, recently bought a $37 million Miami estate to add another luxurious asset to his expanding collection. Situated on Star Island, an exclusive guard-gated community off Biscayne Bay that is home to several A-list homeowners, is the waterfront mansion.

According to his real estate agent, Kimberly Knausz of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, who worked with Ross’s sister Tawanda Roberts, a real estate agent with Florida Realty of Miami, to broker the deal, the “Rich Is Gangsta” hitmaker’s new residence is situated on a 40,000-square-foot lot offering 100 feet of waterfront.

The 12,374 square foot house has a chef’s kitchen, six bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms, and a main suite with a bay view and two walk-in closets. A heated pool, a summer kitchen, a 40-foot dock, and direct access to the bay and ocean are among the outside features of the property.

He was enthralled with the big entryway right away since it had a lengthy driveway that stretched towards the mansion and exuded genuine wealth, Knausz tells PEOPLE. “He intends to improve it to reflect his personal style, and the architecture also played a role because it goes well beyond the typical modern home.”

The expensive purchase, according to Ross, was “a major piece to the puzzle” in creating his real estate portfolio.

Ross announced on Instagram in April that he had purchased a house in Texas, posting a picture of himself with western boots and a cowboy hat. “I invite the great state of Texas to take a shot of @deaconwhisky to celebrate my newest home in the Lone Star State,” he wrote in his signature, “Rodeo Rick.”

The “Hustlin'” singer allegedly bought an estate in the Atlanta region that same month. Additionally, he paid cash for Amar’e Stoudemire’s former NBA player’s Florida house in Southwest Ranches, west of Fort Lauderdale, in March 2021. He said to PEOPLE at the time, “It’s a sprawling estate in a very secluded area.” “From the moment I stepped inside, I appreciated the high ceilings and rich detail.”

The singer also has a home in Fayetteville, Georgia, which he has named “The Promise Land.” It is 45,000 square feet and has 109 rooms. According to NBC News, the 235-acre mansion was famously utilized as a stand-in for Prince Akeem Joffer’s (Eddie Murphy) palace in the 2021 movie Coming 2 America.
