John Cena talks about his long-standing feud with WWE legend The Rock

The Rock and John Cena had a feud throughout their individual wrestling days, which they have since disclosed.


After establishing their reputations in the ring, the WWE icons have both had ventures into the acting industry.

In the main event of WrestleMania 28 in 2012—the highest-grossing pay-per-view event in wrestling history—Cena, 42, lost to The Rock.

After months of taunts, the two would square off again a year later, with Cena coming out on top this time.

Speaking about the battle, Cena said, “The Rock and I are most known for our tremendous WWE feud that broke WWE pay-per-view records,” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.And we kind of trash-talked each other endlessly. We then had a rematch a year later. “So, after mocking each other for a year, we finally got physical one evening.” Then someone asked, “Did we just become best friends?,” to which we replied, “Yes.” In other words, that night we were able to put aside our differences.

In addition to starring in Playing With Fire, Cena has acted in movies like Ferdinand, Bumblebee, and Trainwreck.

And he disclosed that before to trying out for the latter, he had consulted with the now-famous Hollywood icon The Rock, also referred to as Dwayne Johnson.

He said to Cena, “Man, just be yourself. That’s the reason they initially requested you to come there.

Johnson left the world of wrestling to star in popular films including Jumanji, Fast & Furious, and The Mummy Returns.
