Lil Wayne has joined in on Billboard / VIBE’s 50 Greatest Rappers of All-Time list, which has sparked disagreement among fans and rappers on social media.
The rapper, who finished seventh on the list, told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 this week that he could’ve topped it. “Who the is in front of me?” “Was the list all hip-hop, like before and after?” he inquired. “I’m OK with it. I’ll tell you right now that I’m a mother. Everyone whose names you mentioned knows I’m number one. Go ahead and ask them. They are aware of what it is.”
He subsequently emphasized his influence as a hip-hop powerhouse. “Honestly, I would sаy… there is a point where you look around and you’re like I’m not even sure if anyone’s coming down this road with me,” he said. “Any direction I take is always inspired.” As a result, I never feel alone since I am always inspired. Inspiration flourishes, and I collaborate with individuals who like seeing it. I’m grateful to have these folks in my life. My most recent tour was with Blink-182. At the end of the day, I’m at the Country Music Association Awards and on tour with Blink 182. There aren’t many rappers in this position that can claim that. On that mountain, I am alone.”
