During this week’s Kansas City Chiefs game, Taylor Swift sported a more ’90s aesthetic; a replica of that look is available for purchase online from the same designer the celebrity sported!
Asymmetrically pleated, the 34-year-old 12-time Grammy winner donned a Rails custom tartan miniskirt in red, black, and gray with an asymmetrical design to witness her beau Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the New England Patriots on Sunday.
“It is no secret that Taylor Swift is the ultimate inspiration for this season’s schoolgirl trend and adores her plaid skirts,” Linney Warren, vice president of women’s design at Rails, tells PEOPLE. “When we were imagining custom pieces to create for her, we wanted to give her things that she could seamlessly incorporate into her wardrobe — we were thrilled when she chose to style it back to a vintage sweatshirt for the Chiefs game for a bit of nostalgia!”
Swift complemented the skirt with a gray Chiefs sweatshirt and a Depop vendor @kuttheknit’s handcrafted crochet headwear bearing Kelce’s jersey number, 87. The beanie quickly sold out. She completed her ensemble with a Mejuri garnet ring, which she has been consistently donning.
Although Swift’s skirt design is customized, Rails offers its “Prim Skirt” in a variety of colors and patterns that are quite comparable. The bottom is available in the “Cardinal Pine Multi” colorway, which most closely resembles Swift’s and retails for $188.
“We are always thrilled to see an individual like Taylor rocking the Rails brand,” Creative Director and originator of Rails Jeff Abrams tells PEOPLE. “Ever since our collection’s inception nearly fifteen years ago, she has been a fan. In many ways, our styles have evolved since our inception.” Our collection has undergone a significant transformation, shifting its focus from shirting to encompassing an extensive array of dresses, skirts, outerwear, and denim. Each item in this collection showcases our distinctive soft fabrics and effortless styling. Taylor is an exceptional brand ambassador, and we adore the way she completed a complete ensemble by pairing our newest tartan skirt with her beloved team sweatshirt.
The schoolgirl-inspired ensemble seems to be an additional anthology of the singer’s ’90s homage. Swift attended the December 10 Chiefs game against the Bills before her birthday while sporting a vintage ’90s Chiefs sweatshirt in red and black, which was available at the local retailer Westside Storey. One of the $250 garments is currently available on the official website of the brand.
The “Fearless” singer was in attendance at this week’s game with her father, Scott Swift, and the fiancée of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Mahomes.
Brittany brought some custom flare to gameday, too. She wore a black turtle neck and skirt to Sunday’s game, finishing off the outfit with black thigh-high boots and an ivory-colored coat with the name “Mahomes” proudly displayed on the back.
The mom-of-two was looking quite chic, (and surprised) when Swift lifted her off her feet during Sunday’s game to celebrate a Chiefs touchdown.
