Beyoncé visited Brazil, and the BeyHive couldn’t contain their “Energy.”
Queen Bey, 42, attended a surprise screening of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé in Brazil on Thursday. The pop queen celebrated the release at “Club Renaissance,” a fan event and screening in Salvador, Bahia, where she spoke from a convention center stage and performed a tour ritual.
followers filmed the Grammy winner, who looked stunning in a silver floor-length gown, doing the silent challenge with her Brazilian followers. In the footage, when she delivered the “Look around, everybody on mute” lyric from her song “Energy,” the crowd was too thrilled and didn’t go silent, as stadiums did on the Renaissance World Tour.
The “Break My Soul” singer repeated the line when the audience screamed, according to fan-recorded recordings. The hitmaker laughed when they failed their second opportunity by cheering.
Audience members also filmed Beyoncé expressing why she wanted to screen her new film in South America.
Destiny’s Child alum: “I came because I love you so much.” “Being here in Bahia was crucial to me. The Renaissance is about freedom. It’s about your beauty, joy, resilience, and everything else. I am honored to be here and see your gorgeous faces. I adore you.”
After thanking fans, Beyoncé referenced her Renaissance song “Alien Superstar.” No one is like you, she said. You are unique. First and only, Bahia!”
Beyoncé posted nighttime photos on Instagram. She posted a cute selfie throwing up a peace sign, several carpet photos, two of which were of her waving the Brazilian flag, and two candids on stage at Club Renaissance, smiling and brandishing the Bahia flag. Her final shot showed her reclining on an aircraft in her gown, with its long fabric and hood draped alongside her, smiling and enjoying the night.
Fans believed the singer was heading to a Brazil premiere after she altered her Instagram bio to “Salvador, Bahia, Brazil” on Thursday. Along with the profile tease, she posted a humorous Instagram Story photo of Reneigh, her silver Renaissance horse, peering out from an airplane.
