For nightly parties, James Harden is not hesitant to overspend on an extravagant mansion.
Three years were spent constructing Memorial Modern, a 3.5-acre estate owned by Harden, in the affluent Houston suburb of Rivercrest. Among its many amenities are a grotto, wine room, casita, prep kitchen, full bar, and exercise room. The ultramodern mansion spans 26,000 square feet. It is constructed of commercial-grade steel and features uncomplicated design elements.
As the scope of the home increases, so does the difficulty of its design and construction, rendering the minimalist approach, well, minimal—it can be lost. Not here, however. With remarkable results, Frankel Building Group updated the residence for a younger client while remaining true to the original architecture for the benefit of the original proprietor before Harden.
