Raheem Sterling was ecstatic to contribute to our victory over Fulham, and he believes that our home form is providing us with a solid foundation from which to continue.
On Saturday, Chelsea defeated Fulham 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to extend its winning streak to three consecutive Premier League matches and four consecutive home victories in the league.
Raheem Sterling, having been assisted by Palmer through a spectacular reverse pass, was fouled in the penalty area by Issa Diop as he jinked his way into a hazardous shooting position. Cole Palmer converted the penalty kιck in extra time at the conclusion of the first half.
“I was simply pleased to have contributed in that manner to help us earn the penalty,” said Sterling.
“It’s all about quick feet and sharp turns; defenders occasionally dangle their legs out, and he executed that action.” It has been a while since I’ve received any that were crystal clear, so I was relieved when the referee awarded that one yesterday.
“Cole skillfully dispatched it, and we earned three points.” He adeptly positions himself, and he discerns the excellence of the final pass into the box; that was an outstanding pass.
Despite gaining the upper hand on the verge of halftime, crossing the finish line was not an easy task, as the Blues had to withstand late pressure from the visitors in order to secure three more crucial points.
“For this reason, the Premier League is the preeminent league globally.” At 1-0 with ten minutes remaining, if you fail to send teams to bed, every team in the division will put forth an effort, so we had to attempt to score the decisive goal.
“We did not, and they then attempted to push us, but in the end, we secured those three points.”
Additionally, Sterling considers the recent resurgence in our league performance to be an indication of our progress. While recognizing that the Blues have much progress to make before they reach the elevated standards we strive for, his assurance increases with each triumph.
Sterling continued, “It has always been a work in progress; nothing was going to happen overnight.” “We have a gaffer in this room who is establishing group discipline and principles.” There are small things, such as gaining three more points today.
“At times, it can appear tense, but as the group gains confidence and the fans show more support, you can relax and observe the football perform slightly better.”
“That is all that is required; we must continue to build momentum and win, and you will gradually observe our progress.”
“That is precisely what we believe the fans deserve, and it is precisely that which we must continue striving for victory and advancing from here on out.” We are aware of our responsibilities; therefore, we must continue to develop and win contests. Such is the expectation of a football club such as Chelsea.
This represents an additional positive stride and three further points upon which we can further develop. “Having the support of our fans here gives us confidence.”
